点评：A fantastic experience with friendly and knowledgeable instructor Fred. What a buzz from start to finish! This was a steep but always safe learning curve which really built my confidence as a skipper to keep my crew safe in challenging conditions. Downwind reefing in heavy weather was a first for me- I didn’t even know it was possible. A great bit of knowledge to have if things start getting perky at sea. Helming and gybing through three nasty squalls was amazing! Great to learn how to manage these conditions and keep everyone safe.
All the Yachtmaster skills were practiced too - man overboard, mooring, anchoring- all under sail. Again, all new to me and I was so thrilled to learn these - thanks Fred! These are valuable emergency techniques that are useful for any sailor to know- not just for YM candidates. It’s empowering to know you no longer have to rely on your engine.
Food was great and company was great too. Thanks Elite!
