Beautiful Lake Maggiore

点评：Having visited Lakes Garda and Como in recent years, this year we arranged a family visit to Lake Maggiore in northern Italy. Located not far from the Alps this is a beautiful area with it's blue waters, islands, shoreline villages, fringe forests and background mountain peaks.
There are regular ferry's to visit the Borromean Islands including the special attraction, Isola Bella, with guided tours to explore the huge breathtaking palace and enjoy a walk around the gardens.
We stayed in Stresa, the lake’s leading resort, which has cobbled streets, galleries, restaurants, cafes, piazzas, and a lakeside promenade lined with well-kept gardens and monuments - perfect for afternoon strolls in the sunshine. Having visited three of the large Italian lakes we agreed Maggiore was the best. Recommended.
