点评：Every time I visit, I see and notice something different .
It’s a pial house rather than a palace
It is really interesting. So it’s small enough to be interesting and not overwhelming.. it feels like a home from centuries ago and you feel like you’re walking round it. The information displayed is informative. And imaginative and instructive pointing out various things to look at in each room
The town itself is beautifully restored by National Scotland
It is right by the Firth of Forth
There is a great café close by called Buscuit and they are a lovely gallery which is also worth a visit
Make sure you visit the garden and go up all the levels it seems to go on and on forever and yet it’s not a huge garden but with a huge variety of plants vegetables herbs in a walled garden
National trustee room can be good but wasn’t the day we visited sadly
It’s no more than an hour from Edinburgh public transport is probably a bit complicated and will take nearer two hours
And of course it’s been used tin outlander and the number of other films
