A decent enough afternoon our preschoolers were maybe a bit too young

点评：Visited on a sunny bank holiday Sunday & car park very busy but luckily managed to get a space as someone was leaving. If spaces were marked out it would create more as some people didn’t park considerately. Paid £10 to park for 4h which we thought was OK for a car of 4 people given no other entry fees.
We had our 2 and 4 year olds with us. They loved the play area by the main entrance but we found it a bit stressful as it is really aimed at slightly older children and there were lots of high structures that we were worried about them on. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of litter in the play area (some of it sharp cans) due to the complete lack of any rubbish bins in the place.
We then followed the play trail which was a slightly longer walk than we wanted, 4yo struggled with it as quite a bit of rough terrain and steep inclines which made pushing the buggy tough. There were a few gruffalo sculptures at the start (4 or 5 maybe) which were nice but then we joined the stick man trail and it was a bit naff - was expecting more sculptures but it was just display boards with pictures on. 4yo was disappointed looking out for stick man but we never saw him.
There were several play areas dotted through the trail which were aimed at slightly older kids but the frequency of them was good. We had paid £4 for the stick man trail bag which I wouldn’t say was worth it for young children as it’s prob aimed at 5-6 year olds I would say.
The cafe was shut for refurb but there was a refreshment bus & we paid £16 for 2 teas and 4 ice creams. It stayed open later than advertised and was still open when we left at 5.30pm.
Overall it was a decent afternoon for a few hours with the littlies but I would probably say it’s more ideal for age 5+
