Amazing welcome to golf in Scotland
Anstruther Golf Club Marsfield的点评
点评：What a great introduction to golf in Scotland. I had heard of Anstruther from a mate who lives in the same small California mountain town as I do, and it did not disappoint. His mum still lives in Anstruther and came out to say hello on the first tee. A wonderful Scottish welcome.
Ended up playing it twice, once with my friend's cousin, who showed me around the course on a mostly sunny day. And again just over a week later with friends from home, in true Scottish weather - wind and rain. I was the guide, and they were glad to have the guidance.
Hole #5, The Rockies, is all you've heard. If you go, be sure to look down on it from the 3rd Green, it will look daunting. It is. One of the highlights of my two weeks of Scottish golf was hitting the fairway on this long par 3 - not once but twice. I still carded a 4 and a 5, but that's considered well done.
The clubhouse staff was great. Two of my friend's were without their clubs for this round (airline delivered them late that day), and the rental clubs were workable.
