点评:This beautiful private garden is only open to the public on a handful of dates each year. We visited for the very first time this month and I decided within minutes this will become an early outing for me.
The history behind the gardens is fascinating and the owners have done a spectacular job of creating the gardens from scratch. Both on their website and within the gardens themselves there is an information board and you can see before and after photos. The transformation is incredible.
The range of plants and colours a fantastic and the planting draws your eyes. I was, quite simply, blown away. There is a fantastic lily pond and we spent a good while sitting by that watching dragonflies. Seating is spread throughout the garden and it’s nice just to sit a while and admire the view. Take your time here, there’s no rush. It’s a garden to be admired and enjoyed.
The ladies on the entrance gate were super friendly and chatty and I like that the entrance fee that you pay goes towards the upkeep of the gardens and local charities.
Do be aware that there is very little shade around the garden, so come prepared either with a large hat or brolly.
Honestly, I can’t recommend this place enough and if you love gardens, make sure this is on your list for next year.
