Amazing Free Attraction – Don’t Miss the Ayia Napa Sculpture Park

点评：We visited the Ayia Napa International Sculpture Park today and were amazed by both the size of the collection and the quality of the sculptures. Entrance is completely free, and I cannot understand why this wonderful attraction isn’t promoted more widely to visitors.
There are sculptures by artists from many different countries spread across a large rocky hillside overlooking the Mediterranean. The combination of the artwork, landscape and sea views makes this a particularly beautiful place to explore and photograph.
We travelled by bus, which stops virtually outside the entrance, so don’t be put off visiting if you haven’t hired a car. There are also toilets on site.
One important tip: allow plenty of time. The park is much larger than we expected. I took around 120 photographs and I doubt we saw much more than half of the sculptures.
My only criticism is the lack of visitor information. We couldn’t find a route map or guide showing the best way around the park, so it is very easy to miss whole areas and sculptures. Considering the size and importance of the collection, a printed map, guidebook or audio tour would make a huge difference. There is also a large covered area which seems an ideal place to provide refreshments, particularly in the Cyprus heat.
Those are suggestions rather than reasons not to visit. This is an excellent attraction, completely free and well worth making a special trip to see.
If you’re staying in Ayia Napa, don’t overlook it. Take water, comfortable shoes, your camera and give yourself plenty of time — it’s much bigger and better than you might expect.
