点评:The hike to the bridge and bathing pools is a great day out, but should not be underestimated. The distance involved in various time estimates may seem short, but the mule track can be very rough - rough enough at one place to drop a water bottle in a day pack side pouch - possibly on one bad step. Somehow, following groups on my way back meant taking a different route, which I suspect is easier than the one I followed on the way out. The advice you may read about carrying 2 litres of water may sound excessive, but I think you’ll drink that much, or more if you fill up,at springs or the bathing pool. For what it’s worth, an old codger of 65 who used to run long distance but doesn’t do any regular running or hiking now was on the trail for about 6 hours including stops for lunch, and a good rest at the bridge and pools. Watch out for the splodges of orange paint as well as other hikers, and be prepared to consider the possibility that you have strayed off the path, as I did a couple of times.
