Today, at the deli, I was treated rudely by a worker who refused to cut deli meat for me. She directed me several times to the pre-cut meats; however, the meat type and amount I wanted was unavailable. I waited five minutes or more while she walked past me and served other customers who arrived after me. A second employee finally waited on me but acted like I was asking her to do something extraordinary (cutting my selection).
I noticed several things while waiting. 1. There was a manager helping swerve customers and he didn’t say anything about the rude staff. 2. The cutter used to cut the meat needed maintenance. The poor staff who cut the meat was struggling getting the meat cut, as if the blade was dull or something. 3. The normally talkative and pleasant checkout man was silent.
