点评:What a nice surprise!
Driving down the interstate realizing we were looking at sugarcane. My mother said, "Wonder if we can find a tour." First call to the co-op said it wasn't the right time of year. I googled and found Laurel Valley. Although the tours were at 10am and 2pm, I called hoping we'd be able to be squeezed in. Gary answered and offered to give us a tour as soon as/whenever we got there. Boy are we glad we did!
Don't judge a book from the cover. Pulling up to the Storefront makes you wonder if it's going to be worth the ticket price. But, boy was it ever! We even left a tip about equal to the ticket price because Gary did such a good job!
We were lucky that we entered the store on the FIRST DAY EVER that it had AC. We used the clean bathroom and looked around all the antiques that were on display. The men in our group, that are farmers and engineers, loved it!
I cannot even begin to describe the depth of this tour (in a good way! not a boring way!) and how well Gary answered all of our questions.
He made sure that we chitchatted in the shade of the trees (which makes a huge difference in the temperature!) and was so knowledgeable about industry and history.
A true hidden gem!
