点评:If you get a chance, Kantara Castle is definitely worth a visit. It's pretty high up in the mountains and the roads are very twisty but they are good quality and there's not much traffic. It cost 50TL per person for entry. There are no facilities on site other than a couple of toilets near the entrance. However, they do resemble festival toilets by the end of the festival so you'd be very brave to use them. The castle itself is very impressive, and large parts of the curtain walls and buildings inside do still stand so you can get some idea of what it used to look like. There's no real restrictions on where you can go so you can climb up or on anything you can see. The castle extends around the whole of the top of the mountain, so you get very impressive 360 views of cyprus, being able to see both the north and south sides of the island. There are a number of steps to climb and some uneven ground, but nothing too taxing. They only thing missing really is any information about the castle itself. There are no information boards at the start, and there are no signs inside identifying what each of the buildings may have been, so you're left to use your own imagination.
