Quiet beautiful cove but not as easily accessible as some other beaches in Cornwall

点评：This is a nice little private, quiet cove with not very many people even in August. Unlike many other larger beaches in Cornwall, this is not one where you can easily drive up to, park up, and just walk easily on flat ground to the beach. There are only two ways of getting there - by driving through very narrow one lane roads with twisting sharp corners which can be quite challenging and also not much parking, so if you can’t find parking, you won’t be able to find any other parking near this place and you may as well ditch the car somewhere in Polperro and hike down to the cove. Which leads me to talking about the other way of accessing this cove - hiking down the scenic Southwest Coastal Path with its steep slopes - some very steep in parts - a very good workout indeed, but not suitable at all for people with any mobility issues. We stayed at Polperro and did both - we did the hiking route and we also did the driving route. My husband wasn’t very happy about the drive but he really loved the hike down and up. Like I said, the hike is guaranteed to make you lose your breath a bit, but a good workout indeed. And all people we encountered during our hike are friendly and polite. There is a small cafe on site with a few benches and good views. Toilets are closed for Summer 2025 for some reason but as our holiday accommodation is only in nearby Polperro, we didn’t need it. The Southwest Coast Path stretches across 630 miles of Cornish coastlines so you could potentially hike here from further afield, but from Polperro car park would be the closest, taking about it half an hour or 40 mins to reach. You could hike from Looe or Hannafore car parks but then it would take just over an hour to reach.
