Kew Vineyards Estate Winery的点评
点评：Avoid unless you’re a classic straight white couple.
This was one of my favourite wineries, & I first began visiting & supporting it back in 2014. The beautiful patio was exceptionally memorable. I was back in the area with friends & we went out of our way to make sure Kew was a stop.
Unfortunately, after the way we were treated, I would not return again. We came here at 3:30 PM on a Saturday that was relatively slow. There were tables available. After giving me the up & down, they turned us away, saying there wasn’t room. I asked if we could get a glass of wine and just enjoy the grounds, to which the hostess responded (in about the rudest tone I’ve ever heard), “We don’t do that here.” My friend asked if we could go into the wine boutique to look around, & we were told we count not enter because they were understaffed. As we were walking away, others were seated (they did not appear to have reservations). We were not intoxicated & there was no legitimate reason to refuse us entry; it was clear we just weren’t the “look” they wanted for their clientele.
One of our group (who loves this winery) assumed the issue may have the number of people in our group (we were a group of 4). So, she came back an hour later, alone, hoping that she could be seated, or at least go into the boutique. She was again turned away because they were “no longer doing tastings” (half an hour before closing). However, when two white couples biked up & inquired, without reservations (she asked them), they were seated with no problems.
Go elsewhere. We went next door to Villa Romana & the owner was more than happy to show us hospitality and kindness.
