点评:We found this garden online before visiting the Peak District and were keen to visit. Unfortunately the owner has been very unwell and this may well explain why the gardens are looking a bit neglected in places. The biggest disappointment was the Japanese Gravel Garden which needed weeding and the gravel was completely unraked. It's shame as I hoped to photograph that one. Each garden area is small and you can see and spend time in each of them in about 45 minutes, so the entrance fee is a little high. Lots of weeding needs doing, with willowherbs and nettles appearing in the planted areas.
The owner has obviously put his heart and soul into the garden and is very proud of it, as can be seen in the very defensive replies to honest reviews, but I think some help is needed to get it back to a higher standard. It would have been helpful to know in advance that there is little water at this time of year and few waterfalls.
