Our Favourite Day Out in Kephalonia.
Yellow Boats Company的点评
点评：This is the loveliest day out exploring the coastline north of Agia Effimia sailing along the straits of Ithaca and enjoying the glorious scenery, crystal clear waters and stopping at various small bays for snorkelling, sunbathing and just relaxing.
The Yellow Boats Company has a range of different sizes and engine capacities. Last year we went mid-range (there are just the three of us) and this year we 'pushed the boat out' (see what I did there?) and we went top of the range. This was a great upgrade as we had tons of space for sunbathing and lolling about, a pair of comfortable seats towards the stern, and a more powerful engine (that delighted our teenage son when we got up some speed on the open water).
The safety and instruction briefing was very comprehensive, and we felt very well cared for. You have good phone reception everywhere, and there's a rescue boat for emergencies, although I doubt it sees much action. Katerina and the team looked after us so well, and we can't fault their attention, friendliness and professionalism.
We took the earlier time slot (9am - 4pm) as the water is calmer in the morning. The afternoon tides and numerous ferries in and out of Sami with their considerable wake, make the Straits a bit more choppy from about 2.30pm. Some of the bays are very sandy, so getting our anchor to hold on the seafloor was a bit of a challenge and so we were cautious about 'drifting'. With a bit of careful manoevring it's possible to swim to the shore with the anchor, and attach it securely to a nice heavy rock.
We loved our day out on our Yellow Boat, and it was a highlight for our 14 year old son, who can be difficult to entertain at this age. I can highly recommend this activity.
