点评:We arrived without booking mid afternoon. Initially engaged and amused by the giant wellies. Anyway, a tasting had just started and we said we couldn't wait for the next one so the receptionist went to check if we could join the one in process. We could!
We joined an American family from Texas for the tutored tasting. The extra people gave a nice lift to the tasting by virtue of the differnt views. The wines were deep, structured and capable of a fair amount of aging - classic Bordeaux to pair with food rather than drink standalone (although I suppose I could manage that!) The tasting was unhurried and professionally run. Didn't tour the chateau or winery, just did the tasting. A cru bourgeois wine still outperforming some classed growths.
Chasse Spleen is a special wine for me as the 1985 was one of two Clarets my wife and I had at our wedding reception in 1991. It did us proud then and it's still performing well now.
