The Best Experience of Our South Pacific Cruise

点评：We went sailing with Sailing Aitutaki on 2 November 2024. Captain Ted picked us up from the cruise ship tender wharf. Ted took us on an over the top of the island back roads tour. We got to see the volcanic crater that originally formed the island and had a spectacular view of the island, the lagoon and the surrounding motu. At the boat launch site we were introduced to Co-Captain Kenny, who with Captain Ted would sail us across the lagoon. As soon as Ted and Kenny had the Hobie Cat loaded up we set sail south across the lagoon, our destination, One Foot Island.
I love sailing and it was a wonderful experience. Many passengers from our cruise ship went on lagoon excursions in large motorized boats, but we were the only ones sailing! The wind was perfect, the sun was shining and the water was clear and sparkling.
At our destination, One Foot Island, we had plenty of time to explore and walk completely around the island. We also had time for swimming and snorkeling. We also got our passports stamped with the One-Foot Island “Passport” stamp and buy some postcards and mail them off from the One Foot Island post office.
We then sailed to a neighboring island. There under the coconut palms and mangrove trees was a picnic table set just in the shade above the beach. There Ted and Kenny served us a delicious picnic lunch. Chicken salad sandwiches, watermelon, pineapple, sweet baby bananas, papaya and mangos. It was a tropical feast!
Sadly we had to return to our ship. The sail back was as beautiful as the sail out. The entire experience was a one that I will remember forever!
We inquired about the beautiful “Sailing Aitutaki” shirts Ted and Kenny were wearing and found out that they were for sale. When we got back to the launch site at the beach Ted drove us to his home and got us the shirts we wanted. Even tried them on and had Ted take photos.
What a wonderful experience! Would do it again with Sailing Aitutaki.
