Must do - be aware of street kids pick pocketing

点评：This is a must do experience. The performers were my favourite part of the whole experience. Unfortunately the worst part was nothing to do with the performers or speakers but the 3 young street kids between the ages of 6 - 10 yrs old who were looking into peoples bags, touching the opening of peoples bags, touching me with fingers that had warts on them - I have an autoimmune condition so it’s important that I’m careful with these things. No one else really seemed to be aware of these kids except my husband and I. The whole experience is within a publicly accessible place so they are within their rights to be there but it would’ve been good if other people running the experience were more aware of what was happening over the hour or two we were wandering the grounds because we didn’t feel we could really relax, listen to what was being said, and enjoy the experiences. At the same time you don’t want to make big allegations like that but it was clear what they were doing. When I said to the youngest girl who had latched onto me “where’s your sister - do you think she’ll be looking for you?” The tour guide at that time did signal for her to leave. It’s not nice but it was necessary. I’ve worked with children in childcare settings and foster care settings, and it wasn’t typical children behaviour. Whispering before re-entering the group, touching other people’s things, looking into rubbish bins, hanging out inside the toilet block. The tatau experience would’ve been amazing but we didn’t feel it was safe to leave our belongings to the side while there seemed to be pick pockets around. I still stand by the fact that it’s a must do though. Just be careful
