Two Very Interesting Visits

This little village comprises of 16 buildings that are reconstructed replicas of the 18th and 19th century houses. They are mostly representative of the farming and merchant communities of this area. Our first visit was a self-guided one in March 2023, and we toured a Blacksmith Shop, a tiny Church, Chicken Coups, a Schoolhouse, Soldier’s Barracks (now occupied by a Gift Shop and Bathrooms), a Tavern where George Washington was honored, and a historical Printing Press from Colonial Times. There are very interesting placards to read and exhibits in each building.
We returned a few weeks later on April 2, 2023 (Opening Weekend) to see living history via a re-enactment of the Revolutionary War by people in period costumes. They readily posed for pictures with us, and were very knowledgeable of the surrounds. They answered all our questions politely.
Admission is free. Absolutely recommend a visit if you would like to learn about the important history of this region.
