点评:We are staying in Beaver Creek, so we rented bikes from Venture Sports in beaver Creek and they shuttled us and our bikes to the top of Vail Pass, about 20 minutes away. We then opted for the unguided ride down Vail Pass into Vail Village, about 17 miles. It was beautiful, but a few things to note.
1) We did this in July, around 10:00 in the morning and the top of Vail's pass was COLD, probably around 50 degrees. We had sweatshirts, but I wish that I had something to cover my ears for the first 10 miles.
2) Most bike rental places also rent electric bikes. HIGHLY recommend this. We did regular bikes but wished we had done electric. Most of the path, probably 80%, was downhill, but the parts that aren't are no joke! We had to get off and walk our bikes up in a couple of places. Combine this with the altitude that we were not used to, and it was HARD. Unless you're just really wanting a good workout, do the electric bikes.
3) Bring water! There is no place to stop between top of the pass and Vail Village.
The guys at Venture Sports were great! I would recommend them if you're in Beaver Creek!
