A pleasant surprise
State Academic Theatre Of Opera And Dance的点评
点评：We like to see opera or ballet at national houses when we travel. I tried to search their website in advance of our trip to book something but it is out of date and incomprehensible. So I had given up on any chance of seeing a performance in Ulaanbaatar.
However when we were visiting the main square we noticed people were going into the opera house so decided to investigate. As luck would have it there was an anniversary performance of Swan Lake just about the begin. We checked with the ticket office and managed to secure 2 tickets - seated separately but beggars can't be choosers!
The performance was good - we have seen more technically proficient versions in the past but the audience and the artists were committed, passionate and appreciative which added to our enjoyment. The building itself is not a spectacular as other opera houses we have visited but it is small and intimate with the possibility of seating very close to the orchestra and stage.
