Rwanda Gorilla Trek - Day Tours的点评
点评：When you feel sad that today you have just taken the last of your anti-malarial tablets after your trip, it shows how fantastic it was and that dreams can come true. Billy Ssali, who owns and runs and at times guides, Active African Vacations tailored the trip around western Uganda to our every need and surpassed himself. We are photographers with specific needs of angles, light, proximity and, and, and everything that is necessary to capture amazing pictures of the animals and birds. His patience was endless, for which we're eternally grateful. The gorillas were stupendous and I'd have happily stayed to live with them, which sadly was not possible. We were fortunate to have several shoe bill storks pose for us and then ground hornbills, bustards, bee eaters, black and orange weaver birds all crossed our lenses, as well as the iconic tree climbing lions, with a cub being a particularly wonderful "model" and leopards, which we could have touched, as one walked right beside the vehicle. The networking between the driver/guides is essential and Billy, being a master at communication, made sure he knew exactly where we needed to be and got us there as quickly as possible.
The lodges were wonderful, although a couple were a bit quirky, which was entirely our fault because we booked them, and they were the ones that were quirky/less desirable, because of our lack of knowledge of location and facilities (one had a toilet that risked falling over, until I wedged it with rocks). Billy knew (but not about the toilet) and we should have left all bookings to him! But even they had elements of wonderful and he made the most of the difficulties that our stupidity entailed.
I cannot recommend Active African Vacations highly enough, because Billy is so adaptable that if there is a specific requirement, he will ensure that need is met.
A brilliant, memorable, unforgettable and wonderful trip.
