点评：We had a great time today, a very cool day for July. The best bet is to go between 9 and 10 am when still cool enough the animals want to be out. I have been here multiple times the Cougar, the first big enclosure after the River Otters has yet to be seen. Some animals will come right to the fence but others stay far back. The person at the gate will give you the best advice for walking the trail and seeing all the animals. The main walking trail is paved but can be slick on the bridge when wet. Also on the edges of the trail, you can slide due to moss growing on it. The whole are is very shady. This is "Wheelchair accessible" and they do have a few areas where they have an alternative path that isn't as steep, The first one is where the Cougar enclosure is, and the 2nd is at the end of the walking trail going back to the parking lot/ gift shop. The worst part is if large groups come through and are loud the animals will run. If you are taking people who talking loudly then don't expect to see much. We had people behind us that were being very loud for the first few enclosures and kept missing all the animals, once they quieted down the animals stuck around after we left. All the animals here were rescued for one reason or another. And all of them are either current native species or at one time were in WV.
As well as the animals on exhibit several squirrels chipmunks birds and bugs can be seen along the trail.
The gift shop has an assortment of normal gift shop odds and ends, as well as some locally made Syrup, honey, jams, and jelly. They also sell food and ice cream here. The pepperoni rolls are good. The staff is really friendly both at the booth where you get your tickets (drive-thru style) and at the gift shop itself. There are bathrooms out on the side of the building. Everything is very clean and well taken care of. You can picnic here as well.
