Terrible terrible, scam sales pitch place with many fake reviews.

点评:It is probably too late. I suspect you are here because, like me, you saw it was No. 1 on TripAdvisor, and have now gone here and realised wtf is this weird place I just wasted valuable hours of my holiday visiting.
This place is a scam and most of these reviews are clearly fake. I wish I had paid proper attention to them.
The building is quite peculiar and certainly impressive, but you are taken on a mandatory tour through the weird building and made to sit through three very bad sales pitches (yes, you read the correctly) about semi-precious stones, apothecary scents and local herbal remedies. I'm not joking, you can't go and look at the art. The mandatory tour takes about an hour and at each station they are very keen to point out the the end that they accept American Express.
If you haven't been, please do avoid and go and do something much better like visit Cotopaxi, Quilotota, Mindo Cloud Forest or any of the amazing things to do in the city. Whilst you are at it, also avoid the rather rubbish equator museum nearby.
