点评:I enjoyed the sculptures and paintings as well as the circular layout of the Templo del Sol.
I also enjoyed the Temple of the Moon, though I think I liked the building and sculptures outside - especially the doorway - even more than the art inside.
What I didn't like was that visitors were not allowed to wander freely. We were contained to sections on a forced tour that was neither informative nor interesting.
It was a thinly veiled attempt to sell essential oils and "magical" healing crystals. Almost the entire "tour" was devoted to these two foci after the introduction of an herbal "medicine" tea they served their captive audience in little sample-sized paper cups.
Any time I tried to ask a question about the art or its meaning, I was persistently herded into the next room where everyone was gathered to hear yet another sales pitch.
Very little of the "tour" addressed the actual art or cultural symbolism. There weren't even any display signs.
I was annoyed, but I still enjoyed the art. I think the artist is talented. The paintings were bold and colorful, and the sculptures and architecture were worth a quick look-see.
But I would not have gone out of my way to see this. We stopped in because it was down the road from the Pululahua Crater that we drove up there to hike. As an impromptu stop, it was fine. But if you're expecting a cultural experience / museum, this ain't it.
