A challenging test for those with some paddle sport experience

点评：We rafted the 2.5 hour trip in July 2024. This was a repeat of the trip we took in June 2023. This time the water level was very high due to a lot of rain the previous day. It wasn't truly "white water" dangerous, since the river is rarely more than 3 feet deep. But it was a serious test of paddling skill to keep the raft from running into trees on the banks and impaling the crew on overhanging trees and bushes. Since we had four adults with two experienced paddlers, we completed the run in about 2 hours, with only two serious encounters with the trees. Sweet!
The photo is of the two pileated woodpeckers we saw in a dead tree. Don't take a good csmera on this trip, I used my old cellphone in a waterproof case.
If you don't have any experience with paddles, you will get tired of pulling yourself out of trees and getting out of the boat to free it from sand bars. Find an easier trip. But if you have some experience and want to test your skills, this is the trip to take. This company is very courteous and professional. I highly recommend Sturgeon River Paddlesports.
