点评:I came here with a local friend after we had been on an early morning boat ride to the floating market from Ninh Kieu Wharf. Ong Pagoda is very close to the wharf on Hai Ba Trung street opposite the memorial to Ho Chi Minh. It is a lovely ornate Chinese styled single story temple that really stands out.
Inside it is very serene and beautiful with lots of incense burning. I asked about the photos and was told it was ok as long as I did not take photos of people praying or get in their way. Being respectful is important as this a religious place and not just a tourist destination. Rule of thumb, always ask or simply forgo the photos and enjoy the experience, which is what I did after a couple of minutes of photos.
All I really wanted to do was soak in the experience. My friend went on to burn incense and pray in front of different statues and I just folded by hands in front of me and observed the ritual. We spend about 30 minutes all up in the temple. I personally found it a transformative experience.
