点评:Our family used to stay at the Grand Marais Hotel in the 1970's and 1980's. We visited here often. The hotel has since burned down and was replaced with another hotel. My wife and I also came here in 2005, and stayed overnight at a small hotel in town.
What I like about Grand Marias is that it seems like nothing has changed over the decades. For example, the place listed her: Joynes Department Store & Ben Franklin. While it probably has changed somewhat, it just doesn't look like it. It looks like you walked into a Ben Franklin from the 1950's. Lots of odds and ends to purchase. That's a good thing. All the main tourist draws seem to be intact too, as if stuck in time.
There is no specific listing for the town of Grand Marais, but there should be. It is unique, a one of a kind type of place. Lots to do and see, or spend time along the lake, or wander out to the tiny peninsula. Feel "daring?" You can even walk out to the lighthouse at the end of the harbor barrier. It has cable hand holds; walled in open water. This place is worth seeing-the whole town-and of course Joynes Department Store and Ben Franklin. They might even have something you need or want. I found something I wanted. Lots of great things to purchase, as well as the usual dry goods.

Grand Marais
