点评:Decided to make our first time visit after a recent nearby festival so not prepared for the mosquitoes. Our fault. However, this state park really failed us when we picked up a map on our way in. Attempted to hike the entire loop trail of 3 miles but got stuck halfway through when blue marks on trees stopped and trail became very overgrown. Finally just hit the road after trying two trails. Flagged down a park employee who informed us that part was closed due to flooding. There was a short fence like the type to keep vehicles out but not hikers but no sign indicating trail was closed. Even a simple marking of the map and warning at entry would be important. Don’t assume everyone has checked the website before entering (as was suggested to us). Also, having only 2 one hour times for park office made things more difficult. A sign about the trail closing could have been posted there as we always start at the park office when visiting a state park. The canoe trail looks interesting so we may choose to visit again.
