A Mull ‘must see’

点评：For anyone touring Mull, this is a ‘must see’.
The website is easy to navigate and informative; we were able to book a tour easily. The turning for the farm was well signposted and there were plenty of parking spaces (although we did arrive early, just before opening and it was busy as we left at around 12.30).
On arrival and entering the Glass Barn, housing the cafe and shop, we were warmly invited in and impressed by the beautiful surroundings. The log burner, vintage furniture and delicious array of cakes were a welcome sight, but it was the vines that climbed the glass structure that made this feel like such a unique place to enjoy ‘tea and a piece’ while we waited the time of our tour. Service was polite and efficient, and the tea and cake very nice indeed.
Our tour, which lasted an hour and a half to two hours, was, quite simply, outstanding and well worth the money. Our guide, was friendly, buzzing with enthusiasm and incredibly knowledgeable as he shared the fascinating history of the farm and the processes that led to the creation of their cheese and alcoholic products. We were able to see every aspect of the process, how the farm utilised innovative technology and even pet the animals! The tour ended with a tasting session where we were able to sample their amazing produce…which we were able to purchase from the shop later (at a discount as we’d been on the tour).
We had a wonderful day, but, more importantly, left knowing that by visiting and buying the fabulous products on offer, we had supported a business that had sustainability, animal welfare and the needs of the community at its very heart.
