点评:This is one of those places which is a must see place! It is a “palace” in extensive ground so be ready to walk.
We joined an English speaking tour of the building – the resident guide gave detailed descriptions in each room. Furnishings are original but surprisingly they are simple : not floral or ornate as in other palaces. The rooms are few so the tour does not take long. They have a cellar with 60,000 old wine bottles stacked on dusty metal racks – NONE are of drinkable quality. Why they have kept them, I don’t understand as that place could be better used : anyway the oldest wine (four bottles) is from 1841.
There is a wine bar above ground and in another building, preparations were being made for a wedding party – fantastic floral decorations and long green sashes floating romantically.
As part of the tour, the group – mainly French speakers - got a glass of wine – again white wine. A quiet word with the man behind the counter and he very kindly gave us a red wine which was very good.
This was a pleasant outing into the country which we enjoyed.
