I'll remember you the way you used to be - not what you've become, State Fair.

点评：What was once a Wisconsin "tradition" has become a tradition no more. As a former WI resident who spent many early Augusts here and returned several years later, I can't say I've missed anything.
The livestock buildings are, you know, livestocky, and there's a good number of entertaining shows going on in random areas, but the moment you pull out your wallet, you'll be fighting to reel it back in.
Not that anyone is shocked by this, but prices are repugnant to the point where vendors ought to be ashamed of themselves.
$9 for a small single serving of cheese curds? Another $9 for a soda?! GTFO.
Even local items were vastly more expensive here than in grocery stores - is it really because the rental space is THAT much more expensive than a retail store? Big doubt on that one.
And I get it: all fairs are expensive, but that's not a reason to justify extortion. It should be a fun family experience, not something I need a separate investment account just to fund. And constantly telling my kids "no" or wondering how I'll financially recover from an order of cream puffs sort of sucks the fun out of that.
Something else no one will point out: the entire park grounds are littered with cell towers of all sizes; cell towers everywhere - in the center of the walkway, on the sides of the buildings, towering overhead. Made the entire place look and feel dystopian.
Hell, I could feel my ears buzzing after standing near one. In fact, back when my health was poorer, I wouldn't have been able to stand inside the park without my heart skipping constantly or a searing headache. Made me feel terrible for the poor animals, who are even more sensitive to EMF than we are.
But hey, if you like to play microwave oven simulator, are are trying to grow a few tumors, this is a great place to hang out.

天哪，只要站在一个信号塔附近，我就能感觉到耳朵嗡嗡作响。事实上，在我身体状况更差的时候，我根本无法站在公园里，否则我的心跳会一直加速，或者头痛欲裂。这让我为那些可怜的动物感到难过，它们对电磁场的敏感度甚至比我们还要高。
但是，嘿，如果你喜欢玩微波炉模拟器，或者想长出几个肿瘤，这里是个很棒的去处。
让州博览会再次伟大！
