More challenging than the reviews indicated.
Artist Bluff Trail的点评
点评：The was the last hike on our Fall weekend peepers visit. I tried to get an accurate idea of how difficult this trail was and read moderate but folks also said it was easy. We appreciated the online reviews that suggested a clockwise trek and did both Bald Mountain and Artist’s Bluff. The trails had elevation inclines to both sites as expected, but we were surprised at how steep they were. We had a variety of skill levels in our group. We did Bald Mountain first and it was a challenge in some parts but we succeeded. The very last summit only 2 of our folks could do. We met someone on the trail who advised the Bluff had better views. We also saw many people on the trail unprepared (crocs, nice shoes, fashion tennies) and I was glad we had hiking boots and sticks. The advanced hikers in our group did Artist’s Bluff and admitted it was very challenging, rock bouldering both up and down, and those of us less experienced would not have been able to do it. However, the views were gorgeous and they felt accomplished when they succeeded. Overall I felt the reviews did not warn how challenging it was, but I didn’t feel disappointed because we had other excellent hikes in the park that weekend.
