Artist Bluff Trail的点评
点评：I'm reviewing the Bald Mountain/Artist Bluff Trail as they are usually listed together and start at the same trailhead. This hike is typically described as easy and a big payoff for minimal effort. When you start at the trailhead, go left to go clockwise. The hike is very doable as you make your way to the sign where the two trails split. If you want to go to Bald Mountain, the more difficult of the two, follow the arrow and go left at the split. As you near the top, you will come to large rock with little to hang on to. Hiking shoes and even hiking poles are recommended here. We found that to be challenging, but we did it. Once past those, it is a short hike to the top. The view is worth it if you want to put in the effort to get there. Then, in order to do the Artist Bluff loop, you will go back down the large rock and backtrack to the sign where the two trails split. From there, you follow the arrow and go right to Artist Bluff. This hike is also rocky and rooty, but a nice little challenge with the proper footwear. Everyone around us kept asking "did we miss it?". No, just keep going and going, some of which will go down, but you still haven't missed it. Follow the (infrequent) red markings until you reach the Artist Bluff viewing area, which overlooks the Notch with the road running through it. After enjoying that view, you continue on in the same direction to complete to loop, taking you back to the parking lot.
