Nice swim in warm water! Memories of childhood lidos!

点评：In Oxford for a summer school, as it was sunny I fancied a swim. The pool is big and on a weekday afternoon it was quite quiet. Several life guards on raised seats. It is rather old fashioned and reminded me of the outdoor pools I used to go to when I was a child. There are changing cubicles but no lockers, so take a big enough bag to hold all your stuff so you can leave it where you can see it if you are alone, and don't take anything valuable! They only take cards for admission, not cash, and although they push booking online I found the place was quiet and walk-in was perfectly OK. Also take a towel, as there are none available. There also seem to be no refreshments, I think they are missing a trick as ice creams would sell, but perhaps they offer them at the weekend. The water was warm-ish and perfectly fine for swimming or splashing about with children. There are seats around the pool but it was a bit too windy to sit if you were wet, too cold! I walked there - only about 15 mins level walk from Carfax, but I caught a bus back. BTW they don't seem to advertise it but there is an OAPs discount on the entrance ticket - saved £2.
