点评:Setubal is a great very walkable historic city, on the water, often overlooked by tourists, but it takes some work to find all it's gems. In the case of Forte de Sao Filipe, which looms ominously over the city, it's a pretty obvious choice of things to do. It's a pretty steep walk up (about 20") or take an UBER (very inexpensive!) to the top and walk down right into the historic fisherman's area of the city. (Be sure to see the huge cuttlefish in a skillet statue - near the marina at the bottom on the hill) - hysterical!
The views are spectacular, even on the rainy day we visited. You can see the "Greek style" windmills and the beautiful coastline (where Madonna has a home) and the marina/town below. We didn't pay to enter and could wander all over the site, including seeing the gorgeous very small chapel fully tiled. The visit doesn't take long - 20" without the cafe stop. There is a cafe on the top and clean bathrooms - what's not to love?!!
