点评:My husband and I have a history with this place. We have been visiting Newfoundland for at least twenty five years and as I love to visit lighthouses, have been stopping here as well. I was saddened when the lighthouse was removed. It was the iconic picture of a lighthouse on a point. We loved to take the trail up to the lighthouse and look at the coastline--the reason for the lighthouse being where it was. The cliff was stunning. I understand progress but I miss the lighthouse and being able to walk out to the point. The scenery is still breathtaking and the little side trip is well worth it. It is about a six mile drive from the highway on a winding road that passes through little communities with occasional glimpses of boats and the ocean. Only the last bit is gravel. Take the drive and enjoy the view. Squint your eyes a little and imagine a white lighthouse on the point.
