Swim at the Base of a Beautiful Waterfall!

点评：Swimming at the base of a waterfall was something my (adult) son always wanted to do and Helton Creek Falls did not disappoint. We took 2 cars for our family (both SUVs, which are necessary) and yes it's a narrow dirt road and you have to cross a creek in 2 different spots. We arrived around 10 AM on a Friday in the summer, and parking was full by the time we left at 12:30 - so go early.
Our family included 2 young children, 2 30-somethings and 2 60-somethings and the short hike to the falls was manageable for all of us.
The falls itself is absolutely stunning and swimming at the base of it was magical. Best to wear water shoes, as the rocks can be slippery. There is also a lower area you can swim.
It was the highlight of our trip to the Georgia mountains!!
