Some of the rooms can be visited, with interesting paintings, frescoes and historical furniture. One room hosts the "Secchia Rapita" (stolen bucket), one of the symbols of the city: it is a normal wooden bucket that reminds the people of Modena of the glorious victory obtained against the people of Bologna in 1325 in the battle of Zappolino. According to an ancient chronicle, the people of Modena stole the bucket from a well in Bologna and brought it back to the city as a trophy. It is the subject and the title of the famous heroic-mock poem by Alessandro Tassoni "La secchia rapita", from 1622
