Blocked After the Trip, Still Waiting for Payment

点评：Mr. Ilko Gochev from Bulgaria , booked our yacht for a Maldives dive safari trip from 22–29 March 2025, bringing a group of 17 divers. He had initially agreed to pay a 30% deposit to confirm the booking, but that never came through. He sent us what looked like a payment slip, but the money never arrived. When we followed up, his responses were unexpectedly rude. Later, he assured us he would bring the full payment in cash upon arrival.
When we met him at the airport, he showed up with less cash than promised. We told him clearly that we couldn’t go ahead with the trip unless the full payment was made. He then asked us to continue and assured us that the remaining balance would be sent during the trip. His guests seemed completely unaware of the situation, so we decided to proceed in good faith.
Sadly, by the end of the trip, we still hadn’t received the rest of the payment. He gave us more promises, saying the transfer would be made soon. But after leaving the country, he blocked us on WhatsApp and Instagram, and has been ignoring our emails ever since. It's now been over four months, and the payment is still outstanding.
This whole experience has been extremely disappointing. We put our trust in him and chose to honor the trip for the sake of his group. We still hope he will do the right thing and settle the payment. In the meantime, we feel it’s only fair to warn others in the dive, liveaboard, and tourism industry to be very cautious when dealing with him or anyone representing his business.
