点评：Bari Vecchia, the old town, with its labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys that date back to the Middle Ages is the historic heart of Bari, and a beautiful and fascinating place where history and tradition merge and create an incredibly charming atmosphere. The historic quarter is home to several significant landmarks, including the magnificent Basilica di San Nicola, ancient city walls, Romanesque churches, and lively piazzas. With its vibrant street life and many local artisans, life doesn’t get more Italian than this. Arco Basso is certainly worth a stroll past the Bari women who, on the basis of decades-long tradition, still make orechiette in front of their houses in the open air, using just a knife and their hands; and in the morning you can find the fishermen of Molo San Nicola selling fresh fish and squid on the pier in the porto vecchio. You could argue that both have become a tourist attraction more than ever before, but fact is that Bari Vecchia provides a glimpse into the past with its well-preserved architecture and cultural heritage. It certainly is worth a day-trip to wander around here for a few hours.
