Goodwood Racecourse的点评
点评：We are racing fans. We go racing to look at and watch horses. When I go motor racing ditto for cars. When I go to cricket much the same. Hence for racing I expect to be somewhere that I can be comfortable with my surroundings with a good view of what is happening. So I don't expect to fork out the most money I have ever paid for a racecourse (beyond Royal Enclosure at Ascot) to stand on an overcrowded grandstand surrounded by an increasingly drunken, foul-mouthed, casually dressed mob when I am supposed to be in the premium Gordon Enclosure. Very few seats. Overpriced soft drinks. Expensive bland ice cream. Limited viewing. Big screen away to left.
If I wanted to go a raucous party I would do that. But Goodwood have totally lost the plot in pursuit of the penny. All appreciated that racing wants to widen its appeal for the future but this throws the baby out with the bathwater.
We went to Beverley a couple of days earlier. Cheaper. Seats. A great viewing circuit. Close racing. A Jason Hart treble. Good price bar. Food if you want. Great ice cream as a hot day. A nice crowd.
Save your money and go racing in Yorkshire.
