Fantastic Museum on the Impact and Legacy of the Civil Wars
National Civil War Centre Newark Museum的点评
点评：Very interesting 2 hour visit to the Civil War Centre, which provides a fascinating series of galleries on the 17th Century Civil Wars, whilst also focusing on the 3 sieges affecting Newark. A well balanced combination of national and local history.
Lots of exhibits are used across the museum which adds great depth and variation to the displays, and I would highly recommend the short films shown in the small cinema.
The only slight drawback was a number of the digital displays were not working in the main gallery, and there was a surprisingly limited number of history books from the period on sale in the shop.
Other than that, a superb museum and an asset to Newark, would highly recommend a visit to both history buffs, those new to the period and families as well as adults,
Worth the £8 admission but there are discounts for local residents and English Heritage members.
