秋叶原猫头鹰咖啡馆的点评
点评：In Japan, animal cafes abound. I am a biologist (seabird specialist with a tiny bit of experience with birds of prey) and I have to say that generally I do not support the concept of putting animals in an environment with the public where interactions are often forced and concern for the animals' well-being is secondary to profit.
THIS is not that kind of place.
Here, the owls are primary and the guests are secondary... in my opinion, that is as it should be.
What is going on here is truly magical. The owls are SO obviously relaxed and happy. They interact only if they choose to interact, they are treated with the most care and respect that I could imagine; I was honestly overwhelmed at the amount of love, respect and affection that was clearly demonstrated between all of the birds and the owners. Most of the owls are rescue birds that cannot be released back into the wild, or they were pets that could no longer be cared for by their owners. How fortunate they are to have found a home here!
As a guest, you will have an experience that you will never forget. You will meet extraordinary birds in a relaxing, quiet, soothing environment that seems worlds away from the craziness of Akihabara... and you will share something very special with some truly amazing humans who use their love for owls to create beauty and magic in the world.
If you are on the fence about animal cafes because of concerns like mine, this is the place for you. The owls are amazing and the humans that care for them are simply wonderful. Go and support them and have an experience you won't forget.
