点评：Following the directions of Google Maps and other reviews I arrived at a chained driveway and signage announcing Fagatele Bay Marine Sanctuary . Someone working seemingly at the adjacent garbage dump approached, summoned someone in the house and unwrapped the chain . Emerging from the house a young man told me the fee per adult is now $10. Children are $5 each. After I paid he offered to open a metal gate at the far end of his property so I could drive to the trail head . I chose to leave the car in front of his house and walk. The walk was 8/10’s of a mile . The last portion of the trail, the descent to the beach is steep . I wore shoes at the advice of other reviews . There are a series of 3 tethered ropes to aid descent but I didn’t feel I needed them . When I got to the beach it was an hour before low tide . Unless you go at highest tide you are not going to get past the volcanic rock and coral hugging the coast. Given the latitude the highest tide that day was 0.8 meters . In the bay I could see a buoy which is supposed to be recording scientific data . I attempted to swim but it was pointless and unsatisfying . The best part of the excursion was the view of the beautiful bay and walk in a tropical forest .
