点评:This was used as the Palais de Justice until recently. However, it was the Palace of the Dukes of Aquitaine. There was an exhibition taking place celebrating Eleanor of Aquitaine. The steps leading up to the entrance successively depicted Eleanor together with the words, "The Palace to be". The great Hall is a sight to behold. In Eleanor's time, the Hall was called La Salle des Pas Perdus, the "hall of lost footsteps", because it was so huge and was one of the largest halls in Europe, being 160 feet in length and 55 feet in width. At one end of the Hall, there are three magnificent fireplaces that are highly decorated with stone carvings. Eleanor often held Court here and she encouraged the finest troubadours in Europe to play the finest music here. It is now used for numerous purposes, including concerts and fashion shows. What a magnificent Palace!
