点评：Ten years ago, my mum gave us a beautiful gift -a book, "A Vineyard in Tuscany" by Ferenc Máté. Both the story and its beautiful cover felt like an invitation to discover this magical place in the heart of Italy.
And that invitation certainly worked.
Over the last ten years, my husband and I have travelled extensively around Italy, discovering so many beautiful cities, villages, regions and landscapes. Italy became a country we returned to again and again, and Ferenc and Candace’s story was one of the things that made us fall in love with it even before we really started exploring it ourselves.
Yet, somehow, it took us ten years to finally visit the Máté vineyards themselves. We’re not quite sure why!
This year, we finally made that dream come true.
We had the incredible pleasure of visiting the Máté vineyards in Montalcino and, even more special, meeting Ferenc Máté, his wife Candace, and their wonderful sommelier Jessica in person.
The entire Brunello Vertical experience took around 2h. The vineyard, the wine, learning about its production and, of course, the tasting itself was unforgettable. But for us, it meant so much more than simply visiting a winery.
Walking around the property, seeing the rows of Sangiovese grapes and looking out over those incredible Tuscan views made the book come alive in a completely new way. After ten years of knowing their story, we could finally stand in the places we had imagined while reading it.
Now, when we read the book again, we can actually picture the property, the vineyards, the landscape and the life behind the story.
And after tasting the Máté wines, one thing is certain and we definitely won’t wait another ten years to come back!
If you are visiting Montalcino, in the heart of Tuscany, we highly recommend experiencing this very special winery for yourself. Beautiful wines, beautiful surroundings and a story that, for us, started with a book ten years ago and eventually became a real-life experience.
It was truly the highlight of our trip and this year’s holiday.

我们有幸参观了蒙塔尔奇诺的马泰葡萄园，更难得的是，我们还亲自见到了费伦茨·马泰、他的妻子坎迪斯，以及他们出色的侍酒师杰西卡。整个布鲁内洛品鉴体验大约持续了2个小时。参观葡萄园、了解葡萄酒的酿造过程，当然还有品酒本身，都令人终生难忘。但对我们而言，这远不止是一次简单的酒庄参观。
漫步在庄园中，看着成排的桑娇维塞葡萄藤，俯瞰托斯卡纳地区那令人心醉的壮丽景色，这本书的内容以一种全新的方式鲜活了起来。在熟知他们的故事十年之后……我们终于可以站在那些我们在阅读时曾经想象过的地方了。
如今，当我们再次翻阅这本书时，我们能够清晰地在脑海中勾勒出那片庄园、葡萄园、周围的风景以及故事背后所描绘的生活图景。
而在品尝了Máté酒庄出产的葡萄酒之后，有一点可以肯定：我们绝对不会再等上十年才重返此处！
如果您正计划前往托斯卡纳腹地的蒙塔尔奇诺，我们极力推荐您亲自体验这家独具特色的酒庄。这里的葡萄酒真是美妙绝伦。优美的环境，以及一个对我们而言始于十年前的一本书、最终化为现实体验的动人故事。
