NBS - Japan Snowsports Specialists的点评
点评：I started skiing last season at Niseko, and luckily found NBS and my instructor, Dan. I'm a bit older and less athletic than most new ski beginners, but enjoy time on the mountain and have lots of work trips to great ski locations around the world, so figured it was time to learn. Came back this year for 9 days in December and probably will do a few weeks in February 2026 as well.
This shop is excellent. Very friendly, but also professional, and a good selection of rental gear as well as soft goods/etc. for sale. I did upgrade this year by going to a nearby bootfitter for custom fitted boots (well worth it if you can afford it, once you've decided to ski more...), but very happy to rent skis and other stuff here, and the boots are good for beginners or if you don't have your own with you.
They seem to be pretty evenly split between ski and snowboarding (I'm more into ski, since that's what my friends do), and also have a great program for children. Excellent English (a lot of the staff are Australian), easy online booking via email and website, and flexible packages for different amounts of hours/day or a concierge "Platinum Pro" program where they handle travel arrangements for you as well.
Peak season (Christmas-New Years, and Chinese New Year) are a bit different, but early/late in the season is pretty relaxing and not too crowded. You're somewhat rolling the dice on when things open in late November/early December, but if you have time, there's plenty of other stuff to do for a couple days if there's not yet snow. For peak season, you should definitely book as far in advance as possible for everything, especially hotels and lessons.
Niseko itself is the best place I've found to ski anywhere. If you're looking for a ski shop with very good instructors, guides, coaches, and gear, NBS is a great shop.
