点评：Before heading into downtown Hannibal, we decided to stop at Lover's Leap, and I think it was a great way to begin our visit. Located just south of town, it is fairly easy to reach by car and has plenty of parking available near the overlook. From the top, you are rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view of downtown Hannibal, the Mississippi River, and the surrounding countryside. It really gives you a sense of the city's location along the river and helps put the rest of your visit into perspective. The overlook itself is well maintained and features a historical plaque telling the legend of Lover's Leap. Whether the story is fact or folklore, it is an interesting and romantic tale that adds a special touch to the visit and is worth taking a few minutes to read. One feature I particularly enjoyed was the pair of large heart-shaped sculptures covered with hundreds of "love locks" left by visiting couples. It was fun to walk around them and see all the locks that people had placed there over the years, adding another layer of history and memories to the site. The peaceful setting, scenic overlook, and interesting legend make this much more than just a roadside stop. Overall, I thought it was a very enjoyable visit and an excellent first stop before exploring Hannibal. If you're visiting the area, I would certainly recommend taking a few minutes to stop here, enjoy the story, admire the view, and capture a few photographs before continuing into town. Enjoy!
