A very enjoyable hike through lush forest along a beautiful limestone canyon followed by a chillout at Manglito Beach

点评：I did this excursion to the beautiful Yumuri canyon as a full day trip, setting off from Baracoa with my guide Alexey, and stopping between Baracoa and Yumuri for a fascinating visit to a cocoa plantation with tasting of lots of goodies and a very interesting explication by the owner, absolutely passionate about chocolate. I had previously done a visit to another chocolate plantation in the same area and it’s perhaps worth mentioning that this visit was by far the best and the most informative. The next stop was to see the famous polymita snails and the views from the mirador. Then down to the river bank for a short boat ride up-river to the landing stage on the opposite bank. The easy trail then winds along the right bank above the river through wonderful lush tropical forest. It’s maybe worth noting that this hike is easier than that to El Yunque. We stopped by a pool at lunchtime for a quick swim and a snack, before heading back down. On the way back to Baracoa we made a longer stop for a couple of hours for a relaxing swim by the beach restaurant in the picturesque Playa Manglito, getting back to Baracoa around 6pm.
